Rear Park Assist with Hitch

Hi Guys

 

I have a 2013 2500HD with rear park assist. I'm sure this has been covered at some point, but I'd like to be able to retain this feature with a hitch / drawbar installed. I did see a post noting that one owner painted their center 2 censors with black paint, essentially disabling them. Has anyone else tried disabling only the center 2 sensors? Is there a way to unhook the wiring to these sensors without getting an error message? Has anyone else tried the paint method with any success? It would be nice to retain the outer 2 sensors so that the system could still be somewhat effective.

why not try something like tape over them?
