Help request for the seats in my '99 Sierra 1500

I have a '99 Sierra 1500 SLE, Extended Cab, 3- Door, Z-71, 4x4 with front power seat issues.

 

The driver-side seat has given up the ghost. The power seat track is broken beyond repair, and the lower seat cushion is trashed. I know seats from '99 - '02 will bolt is and the wires will plug in, but if I buy 15-ish year old seats, how long before they're no good...? So, maybe something newer.

 

I've seen talk of '03 - '06 seats bolting in, but the wiring/connectors may be different. Does anybody here know for sure that seats from '03 to '06 will bolt in, and it's just a matter of putting new connectors on?

 

I'd appreciate some input on this.

Why not drop your truck off at your local Upholstery Shop and let them work their magic? Your old seats will look like new again.

Well, I'd love to, but I don't have the $1400 it would take to get a new track mechanism from GM ($600), new driver side foam ($150), fabric for 1 cushion ($100), and labor ($500) to just get one seat back to life.
