Creaking in front suspension while turning

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. I have a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4x4. Just hit 150,000 miles, no problems out of it until now. When I turn or brake, there's a creaking sound to it, on my driver's side. And that's the only time it happens. I thought it was my axle popping so I had it replaced and it didn't do anything. Then I replaced my brake pads and rotors. Nothing. Anyone have any idea what this is?? Thanks in advance.

Possibly a dry ball joint.

Time to jack it up and break out the prybar. Look for play in the control arm bushings also.

Also check your intermittent steering shaft. Mine failed, its supposed to. Made it sound like a rattle or creak in the front end.
