The Big Mistake!

I had a problem with my truck that I didn't know how to deal with. I came to this board to get some advice. I started a new thread. I got the assistance I needed (thanks!).

Then I made the big mistake. Thinking that there may more activity on the thread I had created, I took out a "subscription" that would alert me via e-mail every time somebody added something to my thread. At least that is what I thought would happen with a "subscription". Instead, my yahoo mailbox is filling up with notifications every time a new thread on the board is created. I have followed the (fuzzy description of) the "unsubscribe" procedure provided in the notification, where I go to my controls and click on the unsubscribe box. Nuttin' happens, it don't go away.

Can somebody please explain to me where I have gone amuck and tell me the real procedure for stopping all these unwanted notifications from occuring?

And yes, I know, when I hit the post button on this note I am going to get another notification in my yahoo mailbox. Sigh...

Did you subscribe to a specific thread, or to an entire forum? If it was a forum, then I would imagine you would get a lot of e-mails, depending on which forum it was.

Try going to the link called "My Controls", then look under the heading of Subscriptions. You'll see "View Topics" and "View Forums". If you click on those, it will show you which Topics or Forums you are subcribed to. You can edit how long you are subscribed, or delete the subscription all together.

Hope this helps. :chevy:
