Exhaust port matter sensor, failed twice in 5k miles?

My 2016 Colorado with the 2.8 duramax is back at the dealer for a check engine. This is the 2nd time that the exhaust port matter sensor has failed within 5,000 miles. Has anyone else had this issue by chance? The first time it failed took the dealer 2 weeks to get the part. Supposedly this one will be replaced tomorrow. The service manager says the sensor is "shorted" and needs to be replaced. Im wondering if there is a harness issue or something going on that continues to kill these sensors?

Any thoughts or feedback would be appreciated.

I have a 2016 as well. Have had two (2) failed O2 sensors and one (1) failed O2 temp sensor in ~1300 miles. Hearing the Chevy Cruz w/diesel is having the same issue(s)? Per the GM tech, Chevy is working on a fix(s)??
