Please help me check my offer to the dealer - new purchase.

Looking at a 2016 GMC Sierra WT. It has a few options. Dealer has offered it to me for $20,500. MSRP is $31,510. Near as I can tell, invoice is around 27,500 plus $8k in rebates. I'm thinking of offering 19k for the truck, because I figure they want rid of it badly and will sell it at or a little below invoice. Probably settle for anything under 19,500.

 

This is a cash sale. Dealer has about $650 in admin fees, I was going to leave these alone, so total offer would be 19,650.

 

Do these numbers seem reasonable?

If you don't think it's worth $20,500 you should probably keep looking.

Predictably, they didn't come down much. I did get a few hundred extra. Thanks for the advice.
