Lift Kit Q's for mods

I recently got a 3" body lift on my 00 Sierra. I am wondering if I will encounter any types of problems that can occur from installing a body lift and I am also wondering how big of tires can I get without affecting the tranny shifting and abide with the gear ratio?? THe guy at the truck shop told me that 285's are about the biggest I can go without messing with my drivetrain. IS he right?

I've seen some put bigger tire on a setup like yours, but I don't think I would myself. I'd stick with 285/75/16's or 305/70/16's (same height but a little wider than 285's)

I did notice a little loss of lower end power after installing 285's, but not drastic. Bigger tires would make it more noticable. BTW, I have 3.73 gears.

I just got a 3" BL and I have 285/75-16's and if I were to get a different tire I would just get the 305's Any taller and I will lose way to much low end. I have 3.25 gears.
