ASP pulleys installed

Well, got the ASP pulley installed last night. That was a SOB!!! That stock pulley is on there. Taking off the old one was the hardest part. Had to use a 3' breaker to turn the gear puller bolt. The install went much smoother. I did the alternator overdrive pulley as well. First impressions are that the low end picked a little and the mid range as well. The most noticable difference is the throttle response. It is much, much crisper and faster. Engine wants to rev out quicker. With the belts, underdrive crank pulley, overdrive alternator pulley and new crank bolt. I think it ended up costing $250. I would say the 12 rwhp claims are correct. Hell, I spent $250 on exhaust 3 different times. That gave me a lot better sound but much in the way of performance gains. So all in all I would reccomend it.

Im glad the pulleys worked out good for you. I want them for my truck but ASP has their heads somewhere else and does not make them for the 8.1L  . Seems like money well spent to me.

I have the 6.0. Zero cooling problems. Combine the underdrive crank pulley with the overdrive alternator pulley and I am actually running a notch higher on the voltage guage! I reccomend this mod to everyone.

I checked with ASP today. They don't have any plans for 8.1 pulleys in the future. The 4.8, 5.3 and 6.0 package is $279.99 (includes both pulleys, belts and bolt). You can get them shipped free during our special that is running until the 27th.
