sierra v8 4.8 , 5.3

ok the dealer paper say that i got sierra v8 5.3 but how can i know the diffrent

between the 4.8 and 5.3 i looked eveywhere in my car engine and they are nothing say 5.3 ... can anyone tell me how can i know or where to look in my car

so i can see that it's 5.3

Look in your glove box, on the decal in there, for one of these codes:

LM7 = 5.3

LR4 = 4.8

If you don't trust the paperwork, there's a simple 7-step process which will catch them in their lies.

1) Pull one the heads off. (You may need to loosen some bolts.)

2) Measure the bore and stroke of one cylinder.

3) Calulate the number of cubic centimeters in a cylinder of that size.

4) Count the number spark plugs.

5) Multiply the result of step 3 by the result of step 4.

6) Divide the result of step 5 by 100.

If step 6 doesn't result in a value of 4.3, 4.8, 5.3, or 8.1 then have another cold beer and return to step 2. Repeat until all beer in the vicinity is completely consumed at which time proceed to step 7.

7) Replace the head. Also replace any bolts, wires, hoses, clamps, washers, nuts, liquids, and gasket debris that you may notice lying around the area.
