Drove the Envoy in 4LO on interstate

The 02 Envoy was in 4LO going down the interstate for about 50 miles, my wife told me. What damage could this have done?? She said the rpms never changed and she was running 55-60 with no problem.

Wait a minute, I don't think she would have been going that fast in 4LO. She would have noticed the excessive pull and high RPM's.

It sounds like the indicator changed, but the gear change never happened. 55 mph in 4LO would have been very obvious (7000 rpm).

It would not go 55 in 4LO, your top speed would only be 15-20 mph.
