Tailgate won't open

So now all of a sudden my tailgate won't open. But yet, everything internal is connected. Is there anything else I should look at in there? This is starting to get frustrating. First the windows. Then the blend door. Now the tailgate. At just shy of 196k you would think these little things wouldn't happen. Grrr

So I figured out a couple weeks ago what my tailgate issue was. I guess the lock on the right side was bad and after a few to many times of slamming the tailgate shut it wedged it in place. Got it open though. Now I have to get a new lock for that side. And bend the piece it hooks onto pack into place. No big deal I guess.
