Went to the auto parts store to get new plugs their computer said acdelco 41-932(platinum).Decided to call dealership parts department to make sure since I don't have a manual they said I needed acdelco 41-985 (iridium)(dealer stock #12571164) .Plugs are for a 2000 5.3 any body know for sure. Thanks

Iridium plugs are more expensive and "supposed" to be better than platinum. The iridium plugs I've seen are around 13$ ea. Platinum should work fine, I don't see any benefit of running 13$ plugs! Some people have had problems with the platinum tip falling off and have had better results with the regular plugs which are about 1$ each. Hopefully someone here knows for sure! Chris

Believe my 99 has Platinum factory plug. Pulled them out the other day, 90,000 miles on them and they still looked brand new. Gaps were a little closer than they should have been. Figured they should have been farther apart????

Mine are still good, no lost discs.

I replaced mine at 36000 with champion plugs @ $1 ea and it runs great and gained 1 MPG! Mine were pretty bad though and the gaps were all different!
