Easy HP?

I'm starting to upgrade the engine with bolt-on engine parts. I'm getting a throttle bdy spacer (cuz it's cheap). I'm wondering about the more expensive parts (cold-air intake system, mass-air flow sensors, etc) Anyone know of some easy add-ons?

Just a quick note if you are planning on getting a FIPK like from K&N or others I don't think a throttle body spacer will work with them since the there isn't enough room for the tube to turn by the fan shroud. If it does work your going to have to trim the shroud.

FIPK is a waste. I can't speak for the other brands, but I'd just go with a K&N or other high flow filter. Your gains will be almost identical!

I think that if you really want to spend you money well, you are better buy some sort of aftermarket air filter. I have an FIPK, and although I don't think it added 50 horses, it's a hell of a lot less restrictive than the factory box. Besides that save your money by skipping the throttle body spacer, and MAS, and buy a westers chip....Everyone here that has one swears buy it, and it will basically cost as much as a MAS. But IMHO I wouls save all my money and buy a whipple....but thats just me.

I have an FIPK and it frees up a lot of power. Of course I also have exhaust to go along with it, they seem to work together well. I agree, son't waste money with the throttle body spacer. Electric fans free up some power as well. What year is your truck ??

you could do the throttle body bypass for real cheap for a slight improvement

switching to synthetic fluids like amsoil/royal purple/redline oil/neosynthetic oil would do good too

if you get an aftermarket intake make it a sealed one like volant or mod your existing one like greyghost and others making homeade ram air with ducting from a home depot or something

Probably won't see much from a spacer on a vortec engine especially for $100

most noticable power for the money would probably be a new chip from westers
