Wet carpet and heat shield

The driver's side carpet on my 2007 Silverado is soaked. It is mainly the heat shield underneath the carpet that is the most wet, but the carpet is wet as well. I noticed it when I took out my WeatherTech floor mats to clean. Also, the foam behind the brake pedal and gas pedal is wet. It is mainly wet toward the e-brake and in that area. The passenger side is dry. I have dried out the driver's side, but it continues to get wet, even if it is not raining or not wet outside. Anyone have any ideas where this could be coming from? I have looked and looked and I cannot find the problem. Thanks for the help.
