Installed in my 8.1/Ally '02 this morning. Installed it cold engine (sat 12 hrs) took 20-30 mins. as I had to take out the other ECM to get at it in my truck. Started right up, let it warm to full operating temp, then shut it down. Started and shut it off 3-4 times to get some cycles out of the way. The truck is definitely stronger. It's no "tire smoker", but I am handicapped by sticky and taller Revos, which along with my 3.73 gear, don't move 5500 lbs. off the line too hard anyway. Once rolling ~ 12-15 MPH ground speed, it is pretty quick (some TM remains in 1st gear it seems) reving quickly and freely to 3800-4000 and moving right through the gears. The speedo needle is sweeping pretty fast from 30 to 80+ (got to get that 2 1/2 + tons moving you know?. It seems to come alive just before the 1-2 shift. I had some just noticible part throttle ping (no worse at full tip in) for part of the day...seemed to get better when I threw some 89 at it (I needed some fuel anyway...so I put 10 gals in on top of the 87 that was in it. I asked Lyndon to go one step beyond the daily driver parameters 'cause I drive pretty agressive and am rodding it regularly! I am not afraid of throwing some better gas at it when it's high ambient temps or when towing. We discussed this also. The next few days of just rodding the piss out of it, and a couple of 60 mile road trips should tell more. Bottom line...is it $450 stronger? YES I think the next few hundred miles will back me up. Only caveat...I had to reset my oil monitor. :D I'll keep you "posted". Later.

My speedo seems to swing fast too... and I credit that to the shifting program that Lyndon installed in the PCM... I definatly like the quick and firm downshifts when I need a little more oomph, and the truck seems to breath easier for some reason... It feels like I gained an extra 1/4 throttle on the bottom end because the throttle response is so much better. I have no complaints on spending the money either...

Thanks alot guys, now I am really going insane. I WANT ONE NOW!!

I am trying to save up for the Westers and a new exhaust system, the muffler guy here talked me into going with the Dual-Dual flowmaster. So the money I spent on my magnaflow was just a waste! OH WELL, a fool and his money are soon parted. :D

Hendy,

I cant stop starring at your avatar, lol :D

Anyway, got any pics of your truck?

Am thinking about a crewcab but not decided between a 1500 or 2500.

Thanks!

I just installed my Westers two days ago on my 6.0L. I have put just over 100 miles on it so far and it seems to keep getting better. Let me just say it was worth the $430 delivered. I love the way it accelerates and shifts now. The way it should have come from the factory. I have been driving it hard to try and break in the new computer as much as possible. It feels and drives better than it did when it was brand new and I have 42000 miles on it now. I have no aftermarket parts on the engine. It is bone stock except for the Westers. I did have a little bit of pinging, but now it seems to have gone away. I am curious to see how it will be after a couple hundred more miles. May see a little more improvement yet. Well worth it, get one if you can! :D:crazy::rolleyes:

You guys are slowly twisting my arm. I just refuse to send him my original PCM as a core. :D

Mine as is fry's the tires.

I'm also shocked that you actually use your oil life monitor. I never pay attention to mine because by the time it's gone off, I've changed the oil 3 or 4 times anyway so I just keep resetting it.

And thanks for my avatar DiHappy, Shakira is HOTTT!! Anyway, I went to buy me a digital camera the other day to take some pictures of my truck, but ended up buying a flip down mobile dvd player system for my truck!! :wtf: GO FIGURE!! :D So now I only have more to take pictures of!! I am a photographer, you would think I would have pictures, but not yet!! SOON!!!

All I own are huge portrait and wedding type cameras, I need to go digital. Maybe for my birthday.

Is that because you have the 8100? He was able to send me a unit right away, but I only have the 6000.

I believe and it was a couple weeks ago when I went to the site, that he requested a core otherwise you get assesed a core charge. This may have changed.

Your other option is to send him in your PCM, he programs it, and sends it back to you, but I cannot afford to have my main form of transportation down a week.

Kinda wierd, I disconnected my battery to install my mobile theater system, and when I hooked my battery back up, my truck ran better!! Is this because it reset my PCM like in a differnt discussion a few days ago? If so, I will be disconnecting the battery every month!! VERY noticeable difference in the way it shifts and stuff. I can only imagine the difference by getting a whole new chip!

As I mentioned in that thread, go to www.obdII.com and look up the Idle resetting procedures. It'll give you step by step instruction on the proper driving cycle to re-learn your PCM for optimum performance.

I like hasselblad, but I dont use them. I use the bigger 6x7 cameras and I do have a 6x4.5 for weddings though. (still 3.5 times bigger than 35mm)

I use mostly all mamiya.

What about going to a boneyard and picking up one there? You could send that to Lyndon while you're still driving your truck. He doesn't mind that, providing you send him a working unit of course.

Actually, you work for a dealer, don't you? Perhaps there's one "lying" around that you could use. :)
