Chevy 03' tail lights

I bought a set of Chevy 03' tails off eBay for my 03' Sierra. I found that the bulb sockets were different and that the Chevy has a side parking/turn signal light that the sierra didn't. Heres what I did and maybe it might help some others to do the same?

First, I went to AutoZone and bought a set of license plate lights pn: 85814 made by Conduct Tite $3.50 each (you'll need two) and a set of light bulbs pn: 194LL. I then took the new light socket and used my drimel to remove two of the 4 hooks to that it would slide in to the hole in the new tails. I then wired them to the Brown wire from the parking light (top light) and the blue wire of the turn signal. This gives me the alternating side turn signal when turn signals are being used and a side parking light when parking lights are on. Pretty cool! Works just like the Chevy tails do and I didn't need a new harness. ($50 for each side :sigh: ) Next I opened up the Parking light socket to allow my Sierra socket it slide in and turn. The reverse light and turn signal both fit fine without molding but did take some force. Good Luck and heres some pics of the install. :)

After I trimed it.

Finished job. Pretty cool!!!

Hope this helps someone!

I was mistaken the only time the turn signal and the side light alternate is when the parking lights are on otherwise the blink simultaneously.
