2006 Sierra Denali Sunroof wont open....

Hello everyone, 

 

I have searched the forums and could not find the answer to my specific issue so i am hoping someone can chime in and give me some other ideas on how to get my sunroof working.

 

I purchased the truck and the sunroof never opened and here is what conclusions i have come to and what i have done so far to try to get it working.

 

1. There is power at the switch

 

2.There was no power at the motor so i replaced the sunroof module (PN 1038812) - There is now power at the sunroof motor

 

3. I push the sunroof switch and the motor will turn in one direction but it does nothing in the other direction (motor is connected to the harness but not installed on the track currently)

 

4. So i know the motor works but when it is reinstalled on to the track it wont open the window

 

5.I manually powered the terminals to get the motor to turn in the opposite direction and it did turn, so i know the motor is not ceased in anyway.

 

6. I Also purchased a new sunroof switch (PN10381806)  and it had no new affect on the motor direction

 

7. I have removed the battery and motor still only operates in one direction

 

Is this normal that the motor would only spin in one direction? could it be possible the track is simple ceased?

 

Any info would be greatly appreciated!
