2007 4wd Silverado 1500 goes into gear and will not move

I just replaced my transfer case including the shift motor, and now when I put my truck into D or R it will not move. I have an electronic switch 4WD. The shift cable moves just fine, I set a camera underneath to watch it as I go through the gears. However when the truck is running and I go to put it into park I hear some grinding. So now I just put it in neutral, turn the truck off, and then put it into park.

It sounds like the transfer case is in neutral, for whatever reason.  You did plug in the encoder, the 4wd sensor and the VSS sensor on the TC, right?

 

Try hitting the button to switch to 4wd, then after 10 seconds or so switch into D, and see if you have forward motion.

 

If it still doesn't go forward, then somethings up with the transfer case.  I would figure out how to manually shift it (after removing the encoder) and see what happens.

As far as I know everything was plugged in correctly, I'll just go back through it again.

I do not know how to to shift the case into neutral by hand, so that idea might be out. 

I switched the case into Neutral until the red "N" came on and went through all 4hi 4lo and 2hi and I could hear something moving in the case, but I suppose that doesn't absolutely mean it's working.

Another thing I should add is that when the truck is put into D or R is that I can still push it as if it was in neutral. So it's almost safe to say it's the transfer case stuck in neutral right?

First, when doing any of this stuff, chock the wheels, as the vehicle can roll.

 

It sounds like the TC is in neutral.  You could try removing the encoder from the TC, and then reinstall it making sure the encoder is properly engaged with whatever's in the TC that it engages with (I haven't seen the parts for the electric shift setup, so I don't know what they look like or how they go together).

 

Depending on how the end of the shaft in the TC is, I would also try to rotate the shaft in the TC (it rotates to shift between the various modes) to see how it feels and what happens.  If you do this, you can also lift one of the front wheels and one of the rear wheels off the ground and see if "shifting" (rotating that shaft) actually puts it in 2 and 4wd modes.
