New fluid for Allsion

Here is some reading material for anyone interested in the new Torque-Drive fluid that just came out from AMSOIL.

Torque-Drive

This is a cost-effective replacement for the Allison Technical Engineering Specification 295 (TES 295) fluid. The only other oil on the market is Allison's TranSynd, Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid, which is produced for Allison in partnership with Castrol.

Just thought I would post this for reader enjoyment.

I can't put an R with a circle around it after the words Allison, Castrol, TranSynd and AMSOIL, while I type it so I'm stating it here. Torque-Drive is a registered trade mark of AMSOIL. Thanks.

A gallon of the Torque-Drive is suggested Retail price of $32.65 and a 2.5 gallon jug is $78.00

Thanks for the link. I'm considering the change to synthetic tranny fluid on my next change in about 25K. I'm assuming that the new Amsoil® fluid has the higher mileage change interval similar to the Transynd® versus standard tranny fluid.

BTW, if you are running windows, you should be able to select the "character map" under 'accessories-system tools' through your start menu. With that, you can use all kinds of characters, such as the ® and © trademark and copyright symbols, as well as some other good ones, such as fractions ¼, ½, ¾.

I was just wondering how you guys go about and replace the tranny fluid in an Allison with synthetic? I asked the GM dealership if they flush them and he said they don't even have a flusher that will handle it and have never had to do it nor have an idea how to flush them due to the amount of fluid.
