Lowering 02 HOE with Torsion bars???

I see that my 02 has a shock/strut up front with just a torsion bar..

So to lower this truck you just use $150 springs in the rear and are suppose to "adjust" the bar up front to bring it down...

The question is.. how far can you go with the stock TB? I would think that lowering it too far would put undue strain on the TB as well as affect ride quality.. right?

What other way is there to do this (preferably the RIGHT way :-) )

Thanks for helping a NuB out!

All the Tahoe's, Suburbans, Avalanche's, and pick-ups both Chevy and GMC are pretty much the same in the same weight class and drive (2wd or 4wd). Lowering won't hurt the torshun bars but you are limited by "A" arm travel. Generally a 1/2" to 1" crank is ok. Usually it's the rubber bumper on the "A" arm that will limit how much you can lower. Don't cut the bumpers down or you will affect the ride as they function similar to overload springs. In my Sierra Denali I could only crank the front down a little over 1/2" before touching the bumpers and ride wasn't affected at all. I have leaf springs in the rear so 2" drop shackles worked for me, where you need to change the coils.

If you need more drop than this dropped "A" arms is the way to go for a 4wd, call or checkout Belltech.
