What Shock should I buy?

With my income tax check I want to buy some new shocks.  The shocks that are on my truck suck royal butt.  I need a good dampening shock since the short wheel base on my truck makes for one bouncie ride.  I was looking through the march edition of Peterson's and they have a huge selection of shocks and quite a few that fit my price range but I don't know what I should get.  Bilstein shocks are the only ones I know I wouldn't get, they are just too stiff.  Any suggestions or experiences are very welcomed.

I liked the Edelbrock IAS shocks I had on my '97 F250...  (I liked them alot more than the truck!!!   LOL)
