Anyone do a body lift on a 01+ Suburban?

Hey guys,

I've read up a bunch on people doing body lifts but it's mostly been on pickups where the bed is not attached to the cab, making the insertion of the new body lift spacers somewhat easier... since you can lift the cab and then move on to the bed. Has anyone done one on a full size connected cab like a Suburban or YukXL? I'd like to know the tips and tricks for doing it. It seems like it's a pain in the a$$ and the local shop wants $400 in labor to do it. Although I'm mechanically able to do it, I know a pain in the a$$ job when I see one!

Thanks in advance!

I installed one on the 92 K5 Blazer I owned and I installed one on a 2001 Expedition a couple of weeks ago. The install was about the same as a pickup. You just need to get the jack centered so one end isn't picked up higher than the other. On the Expy, I placed the jack and wooden blocks between the front and rear doors.

This may or maynot help but a friend has a 01 Expedition he installed the body lift w/o any problems, it took two people two days (not hurrying). He has more than enough money to pay someone but felt it was easy enough. Hard parts were the steering wheel adjustments and cutting the air dam to fit his brush guard. All in all he seemed to believe it was pretty easy, i wasn't here so I couldn't tell you but from the two of them talking a case or two of beer and a weekend will get her done no problem.
