I want a lift kit, will this effect my ride?

Recommended Posts

I have a

(2010 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE 4x4 Z71)

I would like to put a 6 inch lift kit on it for simple mudding, and looks.

I was going to put on a 6 inch "rough Country" and before you do me some lip ripping. What are the disadvantages that I am going to have with the ride quality on the truck.

I am also going to upgrade to fox shocks so that should take care of the rough country garbage.

I had a 1996 Chevy Silverado with a 6" suspension and 3" body and a 2000 Chevy Tahoe with a 6" suspension and 3" body lift. I'm far from an expert but my ride wasn't all that bad. Just depends on what tires you get and if you're looking for a smooth ride then stay away from a body lift. Obviously, bigger tires means more air so more sound. With good quality shocks and no body lift then you should be happy with the quality of the ride. Once again, I'm not an expert. Just my experience. Good luck!
