14 Silverado double cab WT - adding side steps

Hey all

 

New to the forum so hello everyone and just picked up a 14' Silverado double cab 4.3 WT. I'm vertically challenged and need to add some side steps, but this seems to be a confusing topic as far as getting a straight answer anywhere. Will 16' Sierra crew side steps with 3 mounts fit on my Silverado? Local sale and have already spoke with owner. I noticed a number of rubber plugs underneath the inside of the body but not sure if these are even mount points. Let me go ahead and take some pics, Thanks!

For some reason I can't see the pictures with Tapatalk. But to answer your question, no. Crew cab and double side steps are different lengths. The crew cab steps have four brackets per side and the double cab ones have three brackets. Make sure that you get all the bolts and clip-on nut plates as well as the plastic covers over the brackets. If I remember correctly there are 24 bolts and nut plates each. Also six plastic covers. The hardware is hard to find and when you do, they are expensive. At least they are if you have to get all of them.

So, they said they came off a Sierra crew cab, but they may be mistaken. Here are the side steps for sale. Thanks for mentioning all the hardware needed.

Yea, they are mistaken. Those are for a double cab. If you can take a picture of the hardware, I believe I can tell you if they are the right ones. Those are the ones I put on my 2015 Silverado. Out of curiosity, how much are they asking?
