2004 8600gvwr C6P what happened?

I went to order my new truck today, SURPRISE, no more reg cab 2500 w/C6P 8600gvw and 3.73 gears wil be built this year. It's not even 2004 yet. What the hell is GM thinking? Does anybody know if this is it for this MY 04. Will they offer 8600 reg cabs in 05? I don't need a 2500HD because they only come with the 4.10 an d 9200gvw. I thought trucks were Chevy's best sellers

They discontinued the ext cab and regular cab models the last day to order them was 10/10/04 I ordered mine ( see the sig) on 9/5 which is a good thing cause I wasn't going to until December. Anyway the only 3/4 ton model left is the crew and will continue to be so.
