Roof spoiler cracked

I was washing my truck the other day, and noticed a big crack ( about 3 inch) in the roof spoiler right beside the 3rd brake light. No clue how it happened. The guys at my local dealership think maybe water got underneath then froze and expanded in the winter. Anyone else experience this?

Still waiting to see if warranty will cover it.

Wow.  First one I've seen.  

 

Have you had a window water leak at all prior, so either the spoiler re-sealed or the window re-sealed/replaced?  If you did, I wonder if the spoiler was over-torqued during that repair and lead to stress on it.

No, haven't needed to re-sealed it at all. No leaks, that I've noticed.
