headers and exaust questions

i have a 96 1500 and i was thinkin about getting some hooker competiton headers and true dual exaust. i will only have money to get the headers at first, should i wait to get my exaust to install my headers or does it not matter if i install them first and then get exaust. or if anyone has any good exaust setup suggestions i would appreciate it.
