mud flaps for fender flares

I have a Z71 with the factory flares and the dealer tells me no mud flaps will fit. Does anyone have ideas? I'm looking for something subtle that would match the black plastic flares.

Thanks.

That dealer is nuts!!!!!!! I bought a set for my front and rear of my GMC 03' 1500 HD crewcab which has the black plastic finderflares. The mud flaps are the molded type that fit PERFECT around the flares here is the GM part numbers 12498343 for rear and 12498061 for the front these have the GMC logo on them and 12498342 for rear and 12498060 front with the bowtie logo! Here is a link gm accessories

Good luck

Wish I knew the name of mine, I think a local company over in Spokane, WA makes them, super heavy gauge black rubber compound with thick polished stainless steel caps at the botoms, sharp, and a custom fit for any truck, I will try and find their name. Your dealer is on crack.

I got some Powerflow Ultimate Splashguards for my truck out of the Sears Automotive catalog. They are for trucks with factory flares. Part numbers 2105 front and 2106 rear.

I'm not using the factory flares though, I have Bushwacker Street Flares, and only had to do a little trimming to get them to work with mine.

The dealer doesn't know what he's talking about. I bought the GM molded mudflaps for my 03 4x4 and the first question the parts guy asked was whether or not I had fender flares because they are different part numbers. I don't have fender flares, but I know for a fact you can buy the molded ones from GM for fender flares.

My only suggestion would be is to go to Lowes or Home Depot and pick up a small roll of thin foam insulation. You can buy them in a small roll and they are sticky on one side (typically used around windows, etc...). Before you put the mudflaps on stick the foam strip along the outside part of the mudflap that will be touching the paint on your truck then attach them to the truck. This will help protect the paint from being scratched by the mudflap and it will also prevent sand, dirt, etc to get stuck between the mudflap and your paint! I did it with mine and it has worked AWESOME!! Cheapest insurance I've ever paid for...just a few bucks and it's well worth it! It's also nice to be able to pull the foam off every year and repalce it too...very simple insurance to protect your paint! Good luck!

I have the factory splash gaurds on my HD with flares. They offer them with flares or without. Not sure what the dealership was thinking. Husky gaurds fit perfect too! It is not the best angle to show them but there are a couple pics in my signature showing them with the flares.

I was quoted a price of 30 bucks for front Husky flaps. In case I decided to go with

tubes instead of a full running board. I have used the Huskies on the rear and they work and look great. In fact I removed them from the 01 to put on the 04.

Well it is safe to say that I'm changing dealers right away. This isn't the first time these guys have given me bad info.

Thanks to all for your replies. Once I have them on I will post pics.
