Headlight switch in 1997 K1500

I have a 1997 Chevrolet K1500 and I have a problem with my headlight switch. I'm a tall guy and one day when I got into the truck I knocked the switch with my knee and knocked the plastic rotating part clean off. I was able to super glue it back on but it's since broken again a few times. Has anyone replaced one of these switches? Is it difficult to replace? It seems like a really stupid design to me.

Thanks for any help.

I've never had one apart, but I would guess it's a "plug and play" item. You should be able to find a replacement in a salvage yard. The dashboards come apart pretty easily in the NBS trucks, so I would think your '97 shouldn't be too hard.... (I'm thinking outloud, so don't hold me to this) I'm sure one of members will be able to clarify this a little better for you.

BTW!!! Welcome to the forum!!! Enjoy!!!

It is easy to change out, the dash bezel just pop off, lower the tilt wheel and put the gear selector in "1" then just pull the bezel off, it is just held on by some clips. when you get the bezel off the switch will pop out of the bezel.

Be careful around the shift lever I ripped the rubber boot the 1st time I took it off to put in my radio.
