Tcase help auto is 4h?

2008 1500 Sierra transfer case is acting up. When I used to dial I can hear the actuator working under the truck. The problem is when I put it in auto it acts as if it's in four wheel High. It binds on tight turns and has all the characteristics of four wheel High. I have had another truck with Auto and it definitely doesn't do that does anybody on here have any idea what may be the cause of this. It's really annoying and I would like to have auto back as it is really handy.

 

Long story short I got stuck the other day when we got a good amount of snowfall. I used another truck to pull my truck out which was no big deal it wasn't a hard jolt or nothing. But it is now acting as if four wheel Auto doesn't work but four wheel High and low does work

Sounds like the encoder motor (on the transfer case) might have taken a dump.  Can you get 2HI to shift ok?  Or are you just getting 4HI and 4LO?
