I have a 2002 Silverado 1500 LS z71 that needs engine and tranny.

Donor trucks: 2005 Chevy Silverado z71 with L33. 200,000 miles. Runs great; no problems. Daily driver.

  2000 silverado 2500 4x4 with a 6.0l(cable throttle I believe) and 4l80e extended cab (3rd door)  LS trim. 200,000 miles

2004 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 with 5.3l (drive by wire) and 4l60e its 4door 5 1/2ft bed SLT trim.  Engine needs rebuilt.

my question is what is the best way to go, economically, and ease of swap. Thank you for any feedback

The 5.3 long block would be the best swap. Put your intake manifold, fuel rail and throttle body on it because you have drive by cable.
