LED Footwell Lights

Hello, I’m installing an LED footwell kit in a 2021 GMC Canyon Elevation Standard 3.6L V6 RWD. I would like these light to work with the doors entry / exit lighting as the dome lights do. Preferably a fuse tap location, but if a hard wire tap is necessary…where is the best place so there is no engine code?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since there is an OEM version of this I googled the part number (84231123) and googled "84231123 instructions" which led to this first page:

So circuit 157 is what you want to tap into. This is all over my head though so you may wish to wait on someone smarter than me to chime in.
