Gauge Cluster Part Number (03' 2500)

I've been searching here and kicking google around for about a week now, looking for a part number.

Does anyone happen to know the part number for an 03' Chevy 2500 Gauge Cluster?

I would like to have the tranny temp gauge without having to drop the big money on the Denali Cluster. (If I can help it) Anyways, thanks for the help!

Hi!

I have a 2003 GMC Sierra 1500. I'm adding the factory temp gauge to it for about $140 - check this site out: http://www.usspeedo.com/trans.html

You'll get the factory overlay (no color like you see in the photo), the gauge, a needle for the gauge and instructions. Unfortunately, you need the overlay, and that's where the bulk of the cost comes in. But it beats the $450 for the Denali cluster plus the hassle of getting the miles transferred. If you're good with a soldering iron, it shouldn't take long to install.

You can't order from US Speedo directly, I emailed Jason and asked. He referred me to Stylin' Concepts. I should have my new gauge here next week to install.

Thanks Jim!

I actually emailed Jason as well, and he referred me to the stylin concepts site.

What is the part number of the stuff you are going to order from them? I looked all over and couldn't decide what I was supposed to order from the stylin concepts site??

Thanks for the help man!

The part number is not on the website. Call their 800 number, press 1 and talk to a sales rep. Just give them the US Speedo website - they should be able to handle the rest. Takes about 5 minutes. This part is either really new or just not in their normal stock. But the price I'm paying is reasonable - based on cost of overlays (good ones) about $120, so the gauge and stuff is another $20-$30. So it's not a special order.

My gauge (and new polished grille cuz I couldn't resist) will be here next week. So hopefully that weekend I'll install the gauge. Doesn't look to be too difficult.

I've place an order as well from Stylin' Concepts (800-586-9713).

I've searched a long time for this option at a cost more reasonable than the Denali cluster.

Thanks much for posting this info!

Well, I'm one of the happiest people today. Got my new grille AND my trans temp gauge. Just looked at it, this is so simple to do. You take apart the dash and pull the I/P from the truck. Then disassemble the I/P to remove the original faceplate, add this little tiny motor which is the gauge, solder about 5 points on the circuit board, and then put it all together.

I'm not feeling well anyway, so maybe I'll call in sick tomorrow and work on this since I can do most of the work indoors.

JimG,

Please let us know how it goes, how long it takes, and how well it works.

I didn't end up getting mine because I got a dweeb at Stylin' Concepts that claimed the tranny temp kit wasn't available yet for the '03. I exchanged email with Jason at US SPEEDO who confirmed that it was in fact available, and suggested I talk to another sales person. I just have to make the call again to place the order.

Anyway, it would be great to hear the results of your install before I place the order.

Thanks,

Guys, I did this several months ago and rate it :thumbs::dupe::fume::mad: out of five.

While you are at it, get some unabrasive car wax and buff the clear lens to remove fingerprint marks and other blemishes. Be sure to check for lint and paper-piece debris that fell INSIDE the lens assembly. Static electricity will attract these and drove me nuts since this stuff seems to want to travel inside.

The only negative when having the overlay is dusk. It isn't as bright as the factory overlay. But, that is it.

I second that! I never did get a chance to call the other day... Hell, I'm excited about this too... Sounds like a fun project.

Good luck Jim and let us know!

Thanks guys ... I am home, but unfortunately due to a customer "issue" - read as customer not happy, I have to spend the day rewriting a document. So I guess this little project will be postponed until tomorrow evening. Looking forward to it though ... and you will hear back from me as soon as it's completed.

I really wish I had a digital camera to take some pics of this - I'll try to post some pics.

Ok, the gauge is DONE!

Looks great too - I really like the look. As for the brightness of the overlay, I notice no difference. I took about 6-7 pictures from start to finish and wrote down some notes about the installation. The pics should be developed this weekend, so by the end of the weekend I'll have them scanned.

Definitely a worthwhile mod to the truck. Doesn't take long to do either.

I'd have to say it depends on your skill level - I paused a lot during the process for various reasons, but adding up the time it took me about 1 1/2 hr start-to-finish. Regardless of whether it takes you 1 hour or 8 hours, you need to take your time and do it right because the alternative is a lot of $$$$ to replace it.

Sounds great. I really want to see the pictures. Do you have a part number off of the box it came in or on the packing slip.

THanks!
