Bought a truck today !!

I feel like a little kid that got the toy he always wanted. Anyway, today I traded my '98 1500, Chevy and bought a 2003 Chevy 2500HD Ext. Cab LT, 4x4, 8 foot bed with Duramax and Allie. It is dark green and has 7,000 miles on it. I pick it up on Monday, I don't think I'm gonna be able to sleep this weekend.

 

Question: Would an equalizer hitch be recommended for towing a 7,000 lb car trailer with the 2500HD.

Congrats on the new truck!!!

 

If it were me, I'd set the truck up with an equalizer hitch... The tounge weight that you'll have isn't bad for the HD, but in my opinion, proper hitching is a good thing.

yes on the equalizer. i use one and it works fantastic.
