5.3L Flexable Fuel

I was playin' around with the GMC site today. Tried to put together a "shorty" (single cab, short box) pickup with the LM7 5.3. It said the LM7 wasn't available for that body, but there was a flexable fuel 5.3. What is that exactly?

Its just a 5.3 that can also run on E-85 fuel which is 85% ethanol.

Don't certain FFV's have stuff like special oil and tranny fluid and radiator fluid it uses? I know someone who has a FFV Taurus and she's been told she has to have it serviced at the dealer because of all the 'special' products it uses...or is this just a dealer scam?

So this motor can run BOTH the E-85 and 87 octane? If so might be something to get??
