BCM from 2000 Denali to 98 Tahoe

Well for one, I don't really have a clue what the Body Control Module is or what it does. An explanation to that would be great! But since I have a new center console with the denali BCM as well as the other electronics still in it, I'm wondering a few things. Can or should I get the new BCM hooked up to my truck? What differences would I get from it? Would it be a benifit or not? ETC. ETC. Also, since it has all the original electronics in it, including the 6 disc CD changer, what do I need to get to get that connected to my stock stereo, I've heard it's a simple adapter but I'm not too sure about it. I'm so clueless about this so any info would be AWESOME!!! THANKS!!!!

Your 98 Tahoe doesn't have a BCM, so you can't swap them.

I put a 2000 Denali console in my 99 Tahoe (which is basically the same as your 98). I wired the rear 12v+ plug into the existing plugs on the dash. For the rear audio controls the wiring is a lot more involved, more so than I want to post here. If you are interested in installing them (either with a stock stereo or an aftermarket one) IM me and I'll help you out.

The cd changer can be installed easily with the stock head-unit, if you can find a harness that is long enough. Lots of cars have the same changer trunk mounted so that should be no problem. You will need a "y" adapter to plug it into the harness that goes to the slave tape player.

You will also need to find a lower vent deflector (goes on bottom of airbox) from a Denali or Escalade without the hole in the center (that way it won't blow hot air into the console). The existing one will probably work, but it is best to get one of the correct ones. I lucked across one at the salvage yard, hadn't even realized I would need it yet.

I completely dissasembled mine and dyed it gray to match my interior. I had the little wood grain trim painted to match my exterior color. Turned out really nice.

Here are some pics of mine installed:

Console 1

Console 2

Console 3

The lid was jacked up on the one I got, so I had it recovered over the top of the little part that opens up. As soon as I find another one that is good I will have it recovered in gray and then it will look completely stock.
