New Ford Diesel Commercial

It has an a large ice breaker ship, and says it has X number of diesel, but intough time they bring in the spare... so the ship gets stuck and they drop ann F350 dually in and it pulls the ship through......

Don't bet me wrong, my blood bleeds GM Blue, but that commericial is good! Nice marketing Ford!

I thought the F350 was built FORD TOUGH. I have a video of an '03 Cobra tryin to run an '02 Z06... The Cobra didnt make it past the tree. Both half shafts broke, he got out of the car wondering why he couldnt move. Even caught him picking up pieces off the track before getting his buddies to push him behid the wall. Soon as I can figure out how to use this video editing stuff, I will post a link to the video if ya want.

I thought it was kinda cool. Except the part when they tell how their diesel puts out 525 ft. lbs. of tourqe and nobody else even comes close.

I doubt the the JokeStroke will put down that much torque. The new Cummins 5.9 HO is SUPPOSED to make 305HP and 555 lb-ft of torque. An inline 6 makes more torque anyways. If it didnt why do they use staright 6's in over the road trucks and not V8's? I like the Cummins engine anyways. Too bad its got a Dodge wrapped around it. Heres a good video to look at.. Im a bowtie boy but ive been keeping up with the '03s for awhile now.. thats the first ive heard of anything like that happening... But yeah... gimme a link or somethin.. thanks

Its a video my friend taped while we were at Kansas City International Raceway. He WAS goin to tape the Z06 running when the Cobra ran into some troubles. Im working on getting the video on my computer and I will give you a link. I have nothing against the Cobras, I just dont like Fode!

the car probably had not been broken in, it's best to get it broken in before racing, of course the first thing you will want to do off the lot is race though....

How do you break-in a half shaft? If the 03 Cobras are so fast, then why does every one I see run here at KCIR get their azz handed to them by stock Z06's?? Even a heavily built 03 Cobra runnin more boost and N20 got spanked by a vette that MTI toyed with and punched out to a 422 Stroker and had an S1 Hydro cam. MTI worked a 2000 Z28 and got it to run low 9's, all motor. Most of the fast Fords I have seen are owned by John Force and run the 1/4 in 5.04@293MPH. I am NOT putting down Ford in any way shape or form! Thats all my dad has owned and I like driving his F150. But, from what I and others can tell is that if Ford wants to make a fast car they have to talk to the people at Eaton to get them some chargers. When the Vette engineers wanted to kick a lot of HP out of the LS6 they didnt look to Vortech or ATI for a supercharger. Buyers do that when they want to make it mad fast! I hope I didnt offend anyone with this, that was not my intention.

EDIT...i made some errors, so i am reposting this...

a car should always be broken in before serious racing, many people run into trouble when they don't do this.

the cobra gives vettes a good run for their money, i have a video proving it. vettes are fast cars and so are cobras, and belive it or not cobras have beaten vettes. vettes do not win all the time. many times when racing cars like the cobra and vette against each other it comes down to who is the better driver and what mods the other car has.

also, ford needs a supercharger because the mustang's engine is smaller, and they haven't put as much time into hi-po cars as GM has. look at it, 4.6 vs. 5.7

Regarding Corvettes (coupes) and Mustangs, am I reading correctly Paco when you say Mustangs beat C5 Corvettes (not Z06 cars)? When they don't "is driver error, which is very common"??

You make it sound like a vette has a 8.1 liter. Mustangs use the 4.6 because it saved Ford money. They could shoehorn that motor into almost every car/truck they make.

so, it is easier to make a 500HP vette than mustang.

You can make a 500 hp vette (or LS-1 Camaro) with just a top-end kit.

Proof

I had a LT-1 Camaro (for 4 years) with less power than a new 'Vette (non-Z06) and I NEVER lost to a Mustang without a blower or 200hp+ of NOS (street or strip). I ran 13.62 @ 104 in the 1/4. Most every stock 'Vette I have seen runs 12.8-13.2 at around 108-110mph.

We agree on this point. Most mustang drivers can't drive. I guess it has something to do with their immaturity.

We agree again! Definately not in the class of the 'Vette. For years now, Ford has been trying to overstep the Camaro (the obvious competitor, a pony car) and compare to the vette (a super car) to justify its $30k+ "Value" price tag.

In '03 for the first time since '93, Ford has some competition for the '93-'02 Camaro with the '03 Cobra.

If you want to compare the 'Vette and the 'Cobra, test drive both. I have. The 'Vette is easily 10 times the car.

I do not intend this as a flame. The propaganda was just getting TOO DEEP in here. John Colletti himself said, "We just couldn't get this kind of power without the Eaton blower".

In summary, (sorry so long) I am very impressed with the '03 Cobra. I really wish GM would start using blowers or turbos to boost power. They have fallen asleep at the wheel after slaughtering the Mustang for 8-10 years running with the Camaro.
