Who says the big 3 can't make a quality product?

Big Three Automakers Close the Quality Gap

My wife leased an 03 Toyota Highlander 4WD last June. Its whopping 3.0 V6 is currently getting about the same MPG as my 5.3 L Silverado EXT cab with 4.10 rear end.

I've had no reliability problems with either vehicle, but with gas at $1.75 gallon I'd expect the Toyota to do a lot better. (Wish it were really a "rice burner")

Anyway maybe the press is starting to understand what we've known for some time, the General makes as good a product as anyone  I only wish I could have convinced my wife before we leased this Toyota.

Consider yourself lucky. Gas is about 50 cents more here in the bay area. It cost me 53 bucks to fill the tuck the other day. I can only imagine how bad it would have been if I long the long box with the 34 gallon tank.

Up here Alberta gas was 76.5/liter yesterday, works out to be about $2.89/US gal.

To-day I noticed its down to 72.9/liter, mind you for some reason about 3 or 4 years ago the gas stations give 3.5 cents /liter off at the pump, started off as an advertising ploy for the gocery stores then they all did it and the 3.5 cents never left, end result 69.4 cents per liter = $2.62/US gal.

I can hardly wait till the May long weekend, gas just keeps going up till Labour Day weekend and stays (little flucuating) there till next May long weekend and the cycle continues.........LOL

you need to come to camrose, its only 69.9/L plus 3.5c off. that was last night though. hopefully we get a war going again then they all compete against each other and I have seen it as low as 0.26/L.

But thats the whole idea of our cheaper gas prices. So out of towners drive all the way to Camrose to get gas. Makes lots of sense :loser: but what you may not relize is the many stores that you must drive by to get to the gas stations. So our idea is you come to camrose spend lots of money in the stores go to a resteraunt and of course stop at TIM HORTONS (so you can roll up and see "please play again") fuel up on the gas that saved you 3bucks on and leave. We just want you to spend your money and "get the H#$L out. :banghead:

i was in a friends honda crv a few weeks back and he commented that he got 19 mpg! i thought that was the one advantage the little suv's would always have over me, but i get around 16, so i guess not!

I got an e-mail last month that suggested we all boycott Exxon\Mobil gas. The thinking behind this is that if they start losing money, they will lower prices. This should start a price war :troll:

I really feel for you folks paying $2+. Luckily, it has only hit $1.70 here. Still costs over $40 to fill up :loser:
