Anyone using the Soundgate PIOGM1 to control your aftermarket xm ? It allows you to control the XM from your factory player.

This interface will only work if you have the band button on your factory head unit

As much as I drive my truck I actually had to go look and see if mine was Band or AM/FM but it is band so I called the dealer that's listed on Soundgates webpage and beleive I am going to order one.

I'm using the Soundgate KNGM1. It's the same as the PIOGM1 for the Pioneer XM tuners except it's for the Kenwood Sirius tuners.

 

Only 2 problems. The first is that I have the external 6 disc CD changer and it no longer works. Actually it does still work, it's just the audio for the Sirius tuner and the audio for the CD changer come on at same time when I select the CD changer.

 

I called Soundgate about this and they said they are aware of this problem and to disconnect the CD changer. I don't want to give up my factory 6 disc changer so I'm going to add a relay to bypass the Soundgate interface when I want to use the changer.

 

The only other problem is that all the steering whell audio buttons work except for the "Program" button. It won't scroll through the Sirius tuner presets I've set like it does when using the factory radio.

 

Other than those 2 issues, it works great.
