Spark plug change - 99 Blazer

Okay. 5 out of 6 of the plugs are relatively easy to swap out, but what's the trick to the middle plug on the driver's side??? There's just enough room to get my socket in there, but no room for even the ratchet, let alone a swivel or extender. Do I need to pull the intermediate steering column out? Help!:cool::lol:

Going in from the wheel-well, right? I've heard it may help to remove the intermediate shaft, and that it's fairly easy. never tried it myself....

If you have a spark plug socket with a hex headon the end, use a wrench on it. Ithink thats the way we did it on Elwood's '99 Blazer. We went though the sheel well too.

Put a jack under it, and jack it up some, then go through the wheel well. Jacking it up shifts thing just out of the way enough to get to it. A friend told me this after Tom and I spent forever on on mine.

After jacking up as stated above you can also have someone get in a turn the steering wheel a little ( the shaft is just a little off center and moves up and down just a bit as you turn it).

Hope this helps.
