Tires for a 02 2500HD CC

I was wondering if I could put 255 85 R16 on my truck. I was told that if I jump to a 85 from a 75 It will drop drop the RPMs a little and give me slightly better gas mileage. Plus make the truck look better.

If I did this would I have to reprogram the PCM in the truck? Would a dealer do this for me or would it void my warrenty?

What would you guys put on for tires? Looking for something good on the highway and good in the snow.

You should have the compter calibrated for any tires size you put on unless it is same size as the factory tires. This is something the dealer may or may not do for you. I have heard that some dealers can only make the adjustment for 265/75/R16 tires. That is a factory size for most Silverado 1/2 ton trucks. They may give you a hassle about the fact that a 265 is not offered for the HD's. I just put a set of 265/75/R16E Nitto Tera Grapplers on my 2500HD. These are on the factory rims and they seem to working out just fine. I will keep them rotated regularly and see how the wear. I also installed and new Westers Tune updated for the new tire size. Check my sig for a link to some pics of the new tires.
