drincbud Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 Ok I have been convinced to get a westers, the power increase just seems to good for the 6.0 to pass up. The big questions is what tune do I get. I tow in winter 4 snowmobiles maybe 3 or 4 times a year, and in summer a trailer full of atvs maybe total weight of 3500-4000 lbs at most. I hate to pass up on the power everyone is talking about from the "Hot Tune" what do you guys think? If I get the Hot Tune .... what happens if I dont run 93 octane? Thanks
Shaners Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 I would assume that if you get the hot tune and run anything less than 93 then you a running a risk of pre-detination (pinging). You might want to opt for a "dual-tune". You could call Lyndon Wester and ask his opinion. He is very helpful.
Chevyfreek Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 I agree with Shaners. If you think that you will not want to run 93 octane all the time than a dual octane tune is the way to go. You will get awesome performance out of either. Much better than stock for sure. I have had a 87 octane tune and now have a 93 octane hot tune and they have both worked out great. I did notice a big difference over my 87 tune with the 93 hot tune. So if you want all out performance the hot tune is the way to go and you can pull the loads you are talking about without any trouble....
