2500HD and Denali sound systems-CD changers

I have used this forum extensively, great resorce, thank you all. I finally need help with something.

 

 

Have a GMC 04 2500HD LT with the single CD/cassette head, factory XM. The Head unit looks exactly like the Denali H.U., with the CD changer controls (buttons 1-6, etc), but there is presently no changer, (like most LT's where the changer is built into the HU). The Denali has the CD changer remotely located underneath the dash. That's what I want. I want to pick up one of these and install it in the same place. Whala, a Denali cd configuration.

 

Does anybody know if there is a problem with this thinking, and what exact connector do I need? Will it connect to the back of the stock HU, or somewhere else?

Check out this recent posts regarding the same cd changer install. Maybe 04 stuff is the same as 03.
