K&N Air Filter Question

Recommended Posts

Posted

I put a dropin K&N filter in my truck a few months back. I have noticed a black soot on the tip of my exhaust pipe recently. I thought I saw a thread a while back that said this would be a side effect but I cant find it.

Anybody else having this problem? I dont actually see my truck smoking under acceleration but something is going on...

It prolly is just excess carbon buildup caused by you running richer. New hi-flow intakes move more air through the system so the computer dials up more fuel. More fuel=running richer than normal and more power as a result.

I've got the same issue w/ the air intake on the vette
