Common ABS Failures?

I was trying to get a feel for what the most common ABS failures that anyone has seen. I have a Jimmy with a failure in the ABS and looking for a place to start.

Pretty much anytime you have your foot on the brakes and you hit a bump at the same time.

Mine skips for a fraction of a second and then returns to normal.

Mine, the ABS light is on, and the ABS does not function. I have locked em up and slid by my driveway as a test. So my ABS simply does not work.

My '92 S-10 Blazer is the same deal. The brake light is on and the ABS does not work. I have had three dealers look at it and none of them would attempt to fix it. They said that there is no fix to them, after you put a new unit in it wil go out as soon as you slam on the brakes again.

Mine aren't that bad.

Let me know if you guys find the solution because if mine ever do get to that point I'd like to know how to fix it.

The problem I have is not so much that the ABS is not functioning. (I am used to non-ABS brakes) But, I just moved to Pennsylvania and they require a "safety inspection" after licensing the truck. The ABS light may not allow it to pass.

I used to have the ABS light on as well. They hooked it up to a computer and cleared it. Hasn't been on since. Might want to check into something like that.
