stock battery

I still have the orignal battery in my Z71, which is rated for 6 years. I'm probably going to change it out in a month or so, but I was wondering if anyone else still has the stock battery on their vehicle? Do you think that it could last longer than 6 and a half years?

This is a true story. Back in 1989, my Dad purchased a 89 Econline Conversion Van. Was used on long trips up north; but was not a primary vehicle. Sat alot in the garage.

Well, the original battery lasted 11 years!!! Finally crapped out in 2000. Mileage was at 71,000 if I remember correctly!

 

As far as your truck, it really wouldn't hurt to purchase a spare battery.

for those of us who bought our trucks used, how can you tell if you have the original battery and not an AC/Delco replacement?
