Temperature gauge

:wtf: I have a 1992 Silverado with TBI. My check gauges light is on and originally the water temperature was not reading anything. I changed the temperature sensor and it reads 140 degrees now. Could I need a thermostat as well or is it a bad gauge? Also, when I put my truck in park after driving it for a little while the rpms will drop real low and almost die. Could this be the low idle speed sensor?

Hey Devildog, welcome to the forums!

I never had quite that problem with my 92, so I really can't help out. :wtf: Hopefully, someone else will have some input shortly.

Only thing I would suggest would be.....If it's throwing a code, go down to you local auto parts store, and let them read the code. Call first, as some charge for this, or don't do it at all. But most of the auto parts stores around here will check your codes for free if they have time.
