4L80E failure

I reported a hard shift on my transmission at 38600 mi. There were no codes so the dealer said, watch it and bring it back when it gets worse. I had a 39000 mi. warranty. At 52600 it got worse, but still no code. At 56000 I could not drive it. Mike Glodt with GM Customer Service said that I didn't have it serviced at Chevrolet they would only pay 20%. He said I had no appeal process above him. Any suggestions?

Did you have the Dealer document your complaints on the invoices, did you save them?.....that may be the only proof you have that you tried to have it serviced...then you could send COPIES to the rep and make a case 4 your complaint...just a suggestion...the squeeky wheel gets the grease

I had my 02 k2500 go at about 3600 miles - No codes, no 2nd or third gear either, some bushing had spun and wasnt allowing fluid pressure to the something or other. After their "rebuild" on an almost new truck it would shift from 1st to what felt like overdrive until the clutches broke loose a couple 2nds later but there were no codes and guess what...."Could not duplicate customer concern" I sold it that way and my new one is working ok at this point!

Your biggest asset is your documentation....If you have anything that was still within the warranty period thats the best thing youve got going for you! Otherwise Id argue the point that 20% liability on their part isnt enough - maybe 50/50 would be more equitable.....A heavy duty trans should last 6000 miles past its 1st scheduled service!

Good Luck
