High mileage oil??

Hey all,

 

I'm about ready to change the oil in my 99 sierra, it has 93K on it, and have seen that oil and thought about getting it .

 

Does anyone use this oil? or have any info on it? I have always used penzoil in my truck/car etc for over 15yrs.

 

Just wondering if this work, or is just a ploy to get you to spend more $ for oil?

I've used it in my blazer, and I've never noticed any real gain, or leak stoppage. I have no idea if it's doing something internally, but spending a little extra to get a few more miles out of an engine is always worth it in the oil dept, IMO. But as far as running better, better mpg's, and stopping the smoking on startup, and little leaks here and there the engine has, it's the same as all the other oil I've used on it.

it is supposed to cause the seals to swell and slow leaks. dont use it if you have any warranty left because it lacks the API starburst on the bottle. I would suggest trying it.

I'd consider going to Mobil-1 Synthetic 10W30. It will give you more benifits then any high mile vehicle oil
