Autoride Not Working?

Recommended Posts

I have heard the compressor running on my “new” ‘03 Yukon XL (6K miles) with autoride when loading it full of people. However, since that time, I’ve started towing a 24 foot 5000lb boat with a couple hundred pound tongue weight. When hooking it up, I never hear the compressor anymore and the rear end does pitch down from the trailer.

Aside from bringing it in to GMC for a check / warrantee work, is there anything I can pre-check or test to verify if it’s working myself? Thanks.

No "service air ride" light is on.

I'm also thinking that back when, I could crawl into the tailgate and here the compressor start-up. I've lost 30 pounds since then and am still a big guy, but I really think that thing isn't "auto leveling" any more.

Did I run something over? Nothing out of the ordinary Chicago road hazards. I'll check the fuse (which I haven't yet). Is it in the main cluster? Can I see the link you speak of if I crawl under there?

Thanks.

Dude, since its an 03 with only 6k on it, take it back to the dealer. Let someone else figure out the problem. I personally wouldn't try and tackle an air ride concern. Too much crap to fish through.

It could be the fuse, but If you're not hearing the buzzing and the rear of your Sub is dropping under load - take her back to get serviced. I hitched up a 4400# Searay to my Escalade last wkend and it buzzed and leveled the minute I started the engine.
